Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has ordered the compulsory retirement of Augustine Akhuamhekhun, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities from Edo State Civil Service.
According to a letter signed by the Secretary to State Government, Julius Ihonvbere, dated February 19, 2016, the retirement is with immediate effect.
Also, the governor sacked Austin Evbakhavbokun as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency, with immediate effect, a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Peter Okhiria, said.
The government directs the former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities to hand over any government property in his possession to the most senior Director in the Ministry, while the former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Edo State Traffic Management Agency is to hand over any government property in his possession to the most senior official in the Agency not later than Monday, February 22, 20I6.
No reason was given for the sack.
